Induction Day 2016
Induction day is for all the new students and the Yr12s going into Key Stage 5. This day was a very eventful day starting from the introduction of the SLT members and teachers that would be with us during our academic year. We also got the chance to be able to listen to many advices given by our current and new teachers about what they expect for us to deliver by the end of the year. Many of them have also managed to catch our attention with comparing our previous year to what we will be going through in the future.
After being introduced to our new teachers and classmates, we moved upstairs to encoring socialising and team building. We were given different activities that aimed to enhance our communication and critical thinking skills. These activities included home economic skills such as sewing/stitching, folding laundry and cutting vegetables. Other critical thinking skills included planning a budget trip, balancing credit cards and etc. This really allowed us to be able to think deeper and put us in shoes of early adulthood. We had the chance to bond with people beyond our circle of friends and mingled with new friends.
In a way, induction day had really opened our eyes as to what we need to prepare for the coming years of our lives. It also brought us closer as a school and allowed us to see a different perspective compared to the previous years. This also showed us that despite the seriousness we must show and the maturity we must have, we managed to have fun and do activities that are interesting enough to keep us attentive.
